SALLY SALKOWSKI WITTE
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Sally Salkowski Witte joined AWE as Executive Director in November 2003.  Before coming to AWE she spent several years in various roles with central city nonprofit organizations. Her administrative experience includes 10 years as a commercial photography studio manager. She also worked as a reporter/photographer and editor at a small daily newspaper, and was a freelance magazine writer. She earned a BA in Journalism at the University of Wisconsin Madison. She is a past Treasurer and Board Member of both Women in Communications, Inc. and the Association for Volunteer Administration. Sally also served on the boards of the West End Community Association and Historic Concordia Neighbors, Inc.(HCNI) She and her husband have lived in the Historic Concordia Neighborhood in the City of Milwaukee since 1983.  Their son and daughter attended Milwaukee Public Schools creative arts specialty schools, where they experienced  the impact of the arts to motivate and engage learning.

 

MARY OSMUNDSEN
PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Mary Osmundsen is an experienced community outreach professional and artist. She earned her BFA at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) and her MFA in Intermedia at UW-Milwaukee. Before coming to AWE she was Assistant Director of Admissions at MIAD and a teaching artist in MIAD’s Outreach Program. In 2008 Mary received a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to design and coordinate an art and ecology residency at Riley Elementary School in collaboration with the Sixteenth Street Community Health Center (SSCHC). In 2009, she was funded through In:Site to create a large scale temporary public art piece about water advocacy in the Park East Corridor and was invited by Cardinal Stritch University to coordinate a Public Art Symposium.

 

MEGAN NORDWIG
ARTS MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT

Megan Nordwig graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and International Business.  Through volunteering with the Vince Lombardi Charitable Funds, she developed an interest in nonprofit fundraising.  She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management and Leadership at the Helen Bader Institute at UWM.  Before coming to AWE, she was the Development Intern with the Endometriosis Association and the Special Events Fundraising Intern with Meta House.
