The series is an opportunity for local emerging artists and creatives to hear from established local artists and creatives about the whys and whats of their professional practice as well as how they grew their practices.

Artist talk and discussion will be one hour of a two hour session, with additional time following the discussion for networking among artists and creatives and an opportunity to co-create a group art project at AWE's studio.

This fall, Milwaukee Recreation is hosting its annual Twilight & Treat family celebration at two Twilight Centers!

Join us to kick off the Halloween festivities with free, fun, family friendly activities, including trick or treating, carnival games, arts & crafts, and a variety of enrichment activities.

These artists—whether working in our mobile Truck Studios, as Artists-in-Residence, or as members of our core team—have all helped shape the creative landscape of our city. Through the years, AWE has connected thousands of youth with professional artists, nurturing self-expression, creative confidence, and civic engagement. This exhibition is more than a show—it's a tribute to the relationships, ideas, and experiences that continue to inspire Milwaukee’s next generation of creators. Enjoy a festive brunch with Mentionables Eats along with featured artists, a short program, and a private tour of the show. Guests will also take part in a silent auction of the emerging artists’ work and cast their vote in a peoples choice award for teen artwork.

Join us for a cozy winter gathering where families can create their own handmade lanterns to brighten the season!

After the workshop, we’ll bundle up and head out together for a magical lantern walk, lighting up the winter evening with warmth, creativity, and community.
